Worship & Music

 

Regular Schedule: 8:15 and 10:30   Humans were created to worship and praise the Triune God.  At St. Peter's, our worship life is a vibrant, Christ-centered time in which God confronts us through the gifts of Word and Sacrament.   On Sunday mornings we draw on the best of the Lutheran liturgical and musical traditions and seek to incorporate the best of other traditions, as well.  Although our two services differ a bit from each other, both are always liturgical in shape.  Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday at both services.  A children's sermon is offered at the late service.   We seek to involve many lay people in a variety of roles, and we hope that you'll get involved!

Parish Choir: This choir, for adults and older youth, sings weekly in worship.  The Parish Choir sings at the 10:30 service except on the first Sunday of the month, when they sing at 8:15.  They rehearse weekly on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

 

Handbell Choir: The St. Peter's Handbell Choir, for adults and older youth, rehearses weekly on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.  They typcially play in worship on the third Sunday of the month at both services.

 

Worship Volunteers: It takes many people to make worship happen at St. Peter's.  Every service involves lay people participating as readers, crucifers, acolytes, ushers, greeters, communion servers, and soundboard operators.  If you want to be involved, contact Barnie Slice or Gloria Saunders in the church office.

 

Youth Music: Children at Pioneer Club sing together on Wednesday nights and will be singing in worship throughout the year.  The new Children's Chime Choir rehearses every Wednesday afternoon under the direction of Muffie Alling.
