On February 6, 2011, the people of St. Peter's - led by the Spirit of God - entered into a Growing In Grace faith venture, authorizing the raising of capital funds to construct a new family life center.  Through this venture, we will be better able to respond to God's call and expand our ministries to youth, our Christian education offerings, our service ministries, and our shared fellowship.

Commitment Sunday was April 10.  That Sunday we received 88 commitments that represent $338,060 over the next three years.  Thanks be to God!  By the end of June that number had reached $420,000.

 On July 31, we voted to move ahead with the project in a first phase, leaving off certain elements to minimize cost.  However, thanks to the generous legacy of Leonard and Mabel Heinecke, we will be able to more fully fund the entire project as originally envisioned.  On Sunday, September 25, we voted to enter into a loan agreement of $1.7 million to fund this facility.

 

Groundbreaking is scheduled for Sunday, December 4.  What a day this will be.  We are Growing In Grace for the sake of serving Jesus Christ by serving our neighbors.
